About
ReShawnda Richardson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I earned a MA in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University in Los Angeles in 2009, while serving in the mental health community for 15 + years. My clinical experiences range across various settings including; community and sports based-programs, residential treatment/correctional facilities, structured outpatient programs, large non-profits, college campuses, the private practice sector, and amateur and professional athletes. I take a collaborative approach when working with my clients; such as identifying challenges, strengths, and goals pertaining to their mental health and quality of life. Additionally to my clinical background, I received my BA at California State University Northridge (CSUN) and was a 3-year letter-winner as a member of the CSUN and University of Utah Women’s Basketball Programs. As a student-athlete, I was afforded the opportunity to compete abroad while representing the U.S. Virgin Islands Women’s National Team. Following a successful collegiate career, I pursued a short-lived professional basketball career with the Portland Fire at the time of their existence in the WNBA. After competing professionally, I have coached youth, collegiate, and professional basketball players in various settings; such as middle, high school, AAU level, and professionally abroad (Mexico). Along with coaching, I became the co-founder of an education-based non-profit organization that serviced student-athletes in diverse communities ages 8-23 in the Sacramento area for 8 years.
